i just went back 454 pages looking for the beginning of my time here on tumblr.
know what I learned?
No one really pays attention to anything that isn’t on their dashboard-
I found posts that were amazing.
I think I am going to try to go back more often, I missed alot and I actually want to “see” what other people are talking about, not just throw out random bits of whatever without any concern of how or if it impacts anyone.
And definitely not to increase my tumblarity. yes that feels good to see the number increase but thats not the priority- at least not for me.
I kind of already feel that way about social media because overkill does that. I like tumblr though.
I live in a country that is considered a bit “behind” all things pop/modern. THIS is a good thing. I know people who don’t twitter, fb, no iphone- and they are doing just fine.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again: it has gotten to the point that people are more concerned with communnicating to the world whatever it is there doing instead of enjoying what they are doing.
My first visit to New York City included stepping into the 24,000 sq ft. M&M store on Times Square. Not only did I end up buying M&M merchandise, which is now part of my everyday life, but I also spent an hour just going through one shelf after another, ogling at the seemingly attractive and overly creative transfusions of the brand.
I am not going to hesitate to declare that, soon, advertising will be a bad word. Soon, social media will become an overused, meaningless term.
We, as marketers, must take the necessary steps to define what’s next and bring it closer to today. Let’s redefine the branding models and readjust our thoughts. It is about time we stop limiting ourselves to advertising and selling products blatantly while ignoring the cultural halos that surround our brand messages. Let’s over-deliver.
Brands that will continue to provide extra-ordinary experiences to enhance people’s lives will be the ones with dedicated fandom. Let’s shift our minds from moving pockets to moving cultures.
Take a look at these brands across the globe, who have recently created experiences by mounting their brands in unexpected environments, digitally or physically.
There is practically nothing actually newsworthy on cnn.com..they have gone beyond downhill. They used to be respectable, they used to be news.
WTF?
I can gather more useful info from drunken texts over at texts from last night.
(662): Buying beer for freshmen. No matter what they ask for, I’m getting them Colt 45.
(906): I puked last after eating a volcano taco and drinking vodka. I felt like a fucking dragon.
(337): I found my laptop, credit card, and a bottle of Morgan all on the counter this morning. I’m scared to see what gets delivered to my house this week.
(253): Told a girl i wanted to feel her bellybutton from the inside… I need to learn how to flirt
” —http://www.textsfromlastnight.comI have to unfollow someone because they posted wayyyyy too many pics of twilight people.
How many is too many?
2 is too many…this guy had the whole fn cast. And I don’t think its right for me to be mean to him, this is tumblr.
But I cannot look at twilight stuff on my dashboard. So he really left me no choice.
I believe this is called tumblremorse.
